容量の違うHDDを組み合わせて載せることができるRAID、Droboのソフトウェアをアップデートしました。

メインマシンのiMac をLionへアップデートするのにあたって、RAIDとして利用しているDrobo (Dashboard ver1.7.3) は大丈夫なのか？と念のため調べてみたら最新のソフトウェア 2.0.3 が配布されているようなことが記されていたので、では、ということでLion インストール前にアップデートを実施。

Is my Drobo compatible with Mac OS X Lion?

Yes! Drobo Dashboard 2.0.3 and later supports Apple’s new OS, Mac OS X Lion (OS X v10.7). If you have a Drobo Gen 1 please read “Does my Drobo Gen 1 work with OS X Lion?”.

If you’re using a USB3.0 or eSATA card with your Drobo, you must contact the OEM for the correct driver, as the card may cease to function correctly after upgrading to OS X v10.7.

Confirmation of compatible drivers notwithstanding, before upgrading to Mac OS X Lion, be sure to backup your system and (safely) disconnect any external drives (including Drobo) follow the steps below:

Download the latest version of Drobo Dashboard from here: Downloads and install it.
Safely shut down your Drobo prior to upgrading the OS.
Upgrade to Mac OS X Lion.
Use the newly installed Drobo Dashboard for all volume related operations.

For Time Machine support please check the KB article: How do I make Time Machine work with Drobo?. If your Time Machine has been set up to work with Drobo, Drobo S, DroboPro or Drobo model B800i before upgrading to Mac OS X Lion, you will be able to continue using Time Machine.

アップデート後の Drobo Dashboard はユーザーインターフェースが前のバージョンとは丸っきり変わっていてやや驚かされます。好きではないデザインだけど、何か色々と前進してる感はあったので印象よいです。

で、このDashboard アップデートののち MacOS を Lion へ移行しました。動作は全く問題なしです。従来通りちゃんと Drobo と中のファイルを認識しています。

さて、ボクの Drobo まだ１スロット空きがあるんで、HDD追加を考えて下調べ中なんですが、HDD 2TB 7,200rpm が1万円切ってるみたいです。わるくない。
